Obituary of Caroline R. Bare
Mrs. Caroline Roseborough Bare, age 70, of Ravenwing Lane, Blowing Rock, passed away Monday morning at home after a three year struggle with Bone Marrow Lymphoma. Born November 28, 1937 in Hamlet, NC, she was a daughter of the late William G. Roseborough, Jr. and Minnie Mims Roseborough. Mrs. Bare moved to Watauga County in 1968 and was an antiques dealer, having owned and operated Caroline's Collectibles for a number of years. Caroline was an avid animal lover, and was active in the Watauga County Humane Society, where she served on the original Board of Directors. She was also a supporter of Genesis Wildlife Sanctuary. Surviving are her husband; Bart Bare; one son; Blaine Bare and wife Erin Scott of Elizabeth City, NC, one brother; William G. Roseborough, III and wife Emma of Hamlet, NC, two nieces, Debbie Lorris and Heather Marlowe both of Charleston, SC, and one nephew, Glenn Roseborough of Candler, NC. Memorial services for Caroline Roseborough Bare will be conducted Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Holshouser. A Wake will follow at the Bare Residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Watauga County Humane Society, 200 Casey Lane, Boone, NC 28607 or to the Genesis Wildlife Sanctuary, 210 Grassy Gap Creek Road, Beech Mountain, NC 28604.
