Obituary of Judith Murray Sluder
Judith Murray Sluder, age 63, of Norman Road, Boone, died Thursday morning, February 14, 2008 at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation. She was born August 3, 1944 in Asheville to James Reeves and Nell Rose Branton Murray. Mrs. Sluder was a member of the Foscoe Christian Church. She was employed as a baker at Appalachian State University Food Services for twenty years and was an active volunteer at the university's Campus Christian Fellowship. Mrs. Sluder is survived by: her husband, Tom Sluder; two daughters, Annette Sluder of Boone and Debra Sluder of Wilkesboro; one sister, Carolyn Williams and husband Lowe of Candler; and three brothers, David Murray and wife Mary of Summersville, SC, Larry Murray and wife Pat of Yale, VA, and Roger Murray of Leicester. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, February 16th at 2 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Minister Lance Hostetter. The body will lie in state at the chapel from 1 until 2 o'clock. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens.
