    Mr. Benjamin "Harvey" Reece, age 99, of Flat Springs Road, Elk Park, died Wednesday morning, February 24, 2010 at Watauga Medical Center. Born March 23, 1910 in Watauga County, he was a son of the late John F. and Delphia Harmon Reece. Mr. Reece was of the Christian Faith and was a farmer. Surviving are: one daughter; Judy Arwood and husband Steve of Roan Mountain, Tennessee, three sons; Robert Reece and wife Barbara of Elk Park, Richard Reece of Asheville and Jerry Reece of Elk Park, three grandchildren; Colby Gwyn, James Arwood and Kelly McKinney and two great grandchildren; Shalea and Sawyer McKinney. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters; Ernestine Smith, Fina Shoemaker and Victoria Reece and three brothers; McKinley Reece, Windem Reece and Blaine Reece. Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Reece will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Quincy Norris and Rev. Jacob Willis. Burial will follow in the Beech Creek Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Beech Creek Cemetery Fund. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon prior to the service from 1 o'clock until 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
